President Donald Trump is “determined to restore law and order in our country” as protesters continue to violently target Tesla dealerships, vehicles, and charging stations across America, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

In an interview with Fox News Thursday, Leavitt said, “It is getting dangerous, and the White House wholeheartedly condemns it, and we applaud Attorney General Pam Bondi for investigating these acts as domestic terrorism. That’s what they are.”

Anchor Harris Faulkner warned during the interview that “people leave their children and pets in cars.”

Videos of the destruction have gone viral online, such as this clip posted on X of several Teslas engulfed in flames at a dealership in Las Vegas on Tuesday morning:

The rise in violence coincides with Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk’s increasing involvement with the Trump administration and the Department of Government Efficiency. DOGE was created to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse within the government.

Noting the irony that many Tesla owners are Democrats, Leavitt stated, “The Democrats used to be the greatest cheerleaders for electric vehicles and for Tesla as a company until Elon Musk decided to support and vote for Donald Trump.”

Leavitt said Trump will “ensure the harshest penalties are pursued” for those engaging in the vandalism and destruction.

Owners of Tesla vehicles are using Tesla’s sentry mode to record security footage to catch vandals when their cars are parked.

A man was arrested for felony vandalism after sentry mode recorded him keying a Tesla in a Costco parking lot in San Jose, California, according to a statement by the San Jose Police Department on March 17. The man faces between 16 months to three years in a state prison if convicted.

Several liberal late-night comedy hosts, including Jimmy Kimmel of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and Jordan Klepper of “The Daily Show,” have been slammed by critics for writing jokes about the destruction of the vehicles.
