President Donald Trump reiterated his support for a strong border wall in a joint press conference with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos Thursday.
Trump followed up on a question from ABC News’ Jonathan Karl to Santos on the efficacy of Trump’s proposed border wall in curtailing drug cartels. After Santos’ long answer espousing the benefits of cooperation, Trump simply declared: “Walls work. Just ask Israel.”

Trump has previously praised Israel’s security walls built to curtail the flow of terrorists from Palestine into Israel. “People want protection and a wall protects. All you have to do is ask Israel,” he said in his early days in office.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has backed up Trump’s comparison, saying: “President Trump is right. I built a wall along Israel’s southern border. It stopped all illegal immigration. Great success. Great idea.”
