Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint will appear on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” this Sunday to review the week’s top news stories.
In addition to DeMint, “Meet the Press” announced Sunday’s roundtable will include MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Faith and Freedom Coalition chairman Ralph Reed, author and Georgetown University professor Michael Eric Dyson, and NBC’s Pete Williams.
A teaser from NBC:
This week the Supreme Court rekindled debates at the heart of American politics: civil rights, equality, and the powers of the federal government. Sunday, we’ll talk about the role of the Court and discuss whether these debates, as well as clashes over abortion rights and immigration, signify a return of the culture wars.
“Meet the Press” host David Gregory typically covers a range of topics. DeMint expects to discuss the immigration reform bill that passed the Senate on Thursday — both the negative effects it would have on the American people and alternatives for Congress to consider.
The roundable might also debate Texas lawmaker Wendy Davis’ filibuster of a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks, and the ongoing saga involving the National Security Agency.
