“There is time for this party to figure out a different way forward if he will allow us to do that,” CNN host Van Jones said after Biden's presidential debate performance. Pictured: Jones speaks March 14, 2024, in Washington, D.C. (Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Bezos Courage and Civility Awards)

Some Democrats expressed disappointment about President Joe Biden’s performance in Thursday’s debate against former President Donald Trump—even suggesting he should step down as their 2024 nominee.

A lack of energy, a raspy voice, stuttering, and rambling answers to questions plagued the 81-year-old president, who faces widespread voter concerns about his age.

Media figures reported that Democrat campaign operatives, strategists, and fundraisers considered the debate a blow to Biden’s chances in November.

Some on the Left chose to speak for themselves about their lack of competence in candidate Biden.

“I love that guy,” CNN host Van Jones said of Biden. “… But he had a test to meet tonight to restore [the] confidence of the country and of the base, and he failed to do that.”

Jones continued, “There is time for this party to figure out a different way forward if he will allow us to do that.”
