This week, we talk about how a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist at the Los Angeles Times found himself in deep water after referring to White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders as a “slightly chunky soccer mom.”
“Much like Roger Ailes when he was stocking the Fox News lineup with blond Barbie dolls in short, tight skirts, the president has generally exhibited a preference for sleek beauties with long legs and stiletto heels to represent his interests and act as his arm candy,” columnist David Horsey wrote. “Trump’s daughter Ivanka and wife Melania are the apotheosis of this type. By comparison, Sanders looks more like a slightly chunky soccer mom who organizes snacks for the kids’ games.”
Horsey has since redacted these words, and attempted to apologize on NBC’s “Megyn Kelly TODAY.”
Co-hosted with Bre Payton of The Federalist, this week’s episode of “Problematic Women” takes on this and more, including the Kardashians’ recent visit to Planned Parenthood, and MSNBC referring to a Texas church shooting victim’s unborn baby as a “fetus.” Watch in the video above, or tune into the podcast here.
