Jonathan Gruber, one of the architects of Obamacare, has been caught over and over again mocking the American people. Gruber apparently has not objected to the fact that those same taxpayers were on the hook for $6 million in federal and state contracts awarded to him over the past six years.
Gruber — whom Obama dismissed Sunday as “some adviser” — raked in $5.9 million in taxpayer dollars through federal and state contracts awarded from 2008 to 2014 by agencies such as the Department of Health and Human Services.

Gruber, a health economics professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, returned to the spotlight in recent days as videos surfaced of him discussing the tactics used by the Obama administration and Senate Democrats to pass the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare.
Most notably, the videos show Gruber calling Americans “stupid” and boasting that the health care law purposely was passed with a “lack of transparency.”
All of the contracts awarded drew on Gruber’s expertise in the health care industry, and those from HHS and the states were related to implementation of the Affordable Care Act. In some instances Gruber worked with other consultants, and the final payout from some contracts could differ from original figures.
Update: Shortly after The Daily Signal first published the dollar values of Gruber’s contracts, Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin, a Democrat, decided to terminate his contract. The state had paid Gruber $160,000.
