Heritage’s Nile Gardiner called Secretary of State John Kerry’s warning last week—that Israel was in danger of ultimately becoming “an apartheid state”—an “absolutely appalling” remark in an interview today.
Gardiner, director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at The Heritage Foundation, further characterized Kerry’s comments as “disgraceful remarks” and “extremely insensitive” in an interview with CNN host Jake Tapper today.
“They sent an extremely bad message to a close U.S. ally,” argued Gardiner.
“I think that John Kerry,” he added, “is going from one blunder to another.”
Kerry’s comments were first reported by The Daily Beast yesterday.
