Fox News host Tucker Carlson will deliver the keynote address at The Heritage Foundation’s 50th anniversary gala, the conservative policy organization announced Thursday. The evening gala will take place April 21 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
Carlson hosts Fox News’ flagship primetime cable news program, consistently drawing more than 3 million viewers nightly. Since launching “Tucker Carlson Tonight” in 2017, he’s steadily built the top-ranking cable news show in primetime.
Heritage is marking its 50th anniversary with a two-day Leadership Summit on April 20-21, and an evening gala that will feature Carlson, Heritage President Kevin Roberts, and other programming. (The Daily Signal is Heritage’s news outlet.)
Carlson’s keynote will be his first speech at a Heritage event since 2018, when he received the organization’s Salvatori Prize for American Citizenship, an award that recognized his work protecting and advancing American values. In 1991, Carlson began his career at Heritage, working for Policy Journal, a quarterly journal the organization published at the time.
Roberts, who became Heritage’s president in 2021, praised Carlson for his influence and courage.
“Tucker Carlson is a fearless American who is unafraid to challenge the Washington regime, ask tough questions, and hold the ruling elite accountable. His nightly show is must-see TV for anyone who realizes we have limited window of time to save this country,” Roberts said. “We are excited to welcome Tucker Carlson back to Heritage as we mark this important milestone and celebrate our 50th anniversary.”
Before he became a Fox News regular, Carlson co-founded and served as editor-in-chief of The Daily Caller. He once hosted MSNBC’s “Tucker” and CNN’s “Crossfire.” Carlson also currently serves as host of the Fox Nation series “Tucker Carlson Today” and “Tucker Carlson Originals.” He’s the author of “Ship of Fools: How a Selfish Ruling Class Is Bringing America to the Brink of Revolution” and “The Long Slide: Thirty Years in American Journalism.”
Earlier this week, Heritage announced plans for its Leadership Summit, which begins the morning of April 20. The event will bring together elected officials, conservative leaders, and Heritage supporters for discussions about the future of America and an agenda for the next president.
