Problematic Women: What Bre Payton’s Mom and Friends Want You to Know About Grief
Kelsey Bolar /
The Daily Signal’s weekly podcast, “Problematic Women,” went on a three-month hiatus after losing our podcast co-host, Bre Payton, on Dec. 28 of last year.
Bre, a former staff writer for The Federalist, died from a sudden illness, and is survived by her parents, George and Cindy; siblings James, Jack, Christina, and Cheekie; and her boyfriend Ryan Colby.
Today, the show returns with a special tribute to Bre. Her roommates Kat Nikas, an attorney in Washington, D.C., and Brianna Herlihy, a media relations specialist with Alliance Defending Freedom, join us, along with Lauren Evans of The Daily Signal. We talk about love, loss, hope, and grief.
We’re also joined by Bre’s mom, Cindy Payton, who helps us remember Bre and provides an update on how her family is coping.
Our usual show will publish every Thursday morning, and focus on a mix of women’s issues and current events. We’ll feature rotating hosts with diverse perspectives on what it means to be a conservative woman in today’s culture.
But for our first episode back, we’ll remember Bre. Listen in the podcast above, and subscribe on iTunes, SoundCloud, or wherever you get your podcasts.
In loving memory of Bre Payton, her family has set up a college scholarship fund to support other young, rising Christian leaders who share in Bre’s passion for truth, purpose, and life. Donate here.
