McCain on Iran Deal: ‘All the Other Nations in the Region Are Going to Go Nuclear’
David Brody /
Sen. John McCain says the Obama administration’s nuclear deal with Iran is so bad that it could turn the Middle East into a nuclear cauldron.
“What I see is an escalation to the point where all the other nations in the region are going to go nuclear and it will be a tinderbox,” McCain tells The Daily Signal. “This is a bad deal. I hope I’m wrong. I pray that I’m wrong.”
Meanwhile, Congress continues to figure out a way to change or lessen the impact of the deal. Last week, the U.S. House voted to stop President Barack Obama from getting rid of sanctions on Iran until $40 billion is paid out to those who have been targets of terrorism-related incidents backed by Iran. Obama, as you might expect, says he’ll veto the bill. It doesn’t have a chance to get through the Senate, either.
In the Senate, the Iran Policy Oversight Act would provide Israel with more security help as well as mandatory reports from the administration that would detail where Iran is using the money it receives from the relief of sanctions.
