Obama Explains Why He Won’t Wait for Congress to Act on Immigration

Despite blunt warnings from Republicans, President Obama made it clear that he will not wait for Congress to act on immigration.
“I’m going to do what I can do through executive action,” he said this morning on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.”
In explaining why he can’t delay, Obama told CBS News’ Bob Schieffer, “Every day that I wait, we’re misallocating resources, we’re deporting people that shouldn’t be deported, [and] we’re not deporting folks that are dangerous and need to be deported.”
