Leigh Bortins believes classical education is the key to fostering individuals who are curious, free, confident, and knowledgeable.
As the founder and chief academic officer of Classical Conversations, her homeschooling organization reaches a national and international audience with the goal of equipping parents and students with the classical tools of learning.
Bortins, a mother of four homeschooled children, recently visited Heritage to discuss her new book, “The Question: Teaching Your Child the Essentials of a Classical Education.” It introduces parents to the most foundational questions their children must ask and answer in order to be successfully educated.
“As a classical educator, I am interested in questions,” Bortins said.
Bortins is passionate about helping parents educate their children with a classical education. That means incorporating classical learning with a biblical worldview.
The lecture runs about one hour. It was hosted by Becky Norton Dunlop, Heritage’s vice president of external relations.
