Analysis: This week, the House is expected to consider the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRDA). This bill will allow the federal government to spend taxpayer money on activities that would be more appropriately and efficiently managed by states, localities, or the private sector. Lawmakers should be allowed to offer amendments to fix the bill’s numerous shortcomings and questionable provisions.

• The House Energy and Commerce Committee will hold a hearing entitled “PPACA Implementation Failures: Didn’t Know or Didn’t Disclose?”
• The House Armed Services Committee will hold a hearing entitled “Impacts of a Continuing Resolution and Sequestration on Acquisition and Modernization.”
• The House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing entitled “Examining Legislative Proposals to Reform the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.”

The Senate is not in session this week.
