House Cloakroom:
Analysis: This week, the House may consider legislation related to the debt ceiling. It may also take further action on the Continuing Appropriations Resolution of 2014, which may be contingent upon action in the Senate.
Major Committee Action:
- The House Committee on Foreign Affairs will hold hearing entitled A Closer Look at Cuba and its Recent History of Proliferation.
- The House Committee will hold a hearing on The Department of the Interior’s proposal to use a Categorical Exclusion under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for adding species to the Lacey Act’s list of injurious wildlife.
Senate Cloakroom:
Analysis: This week, the Senate will consider the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2014, which was passed with bipartisan support in the House by a vote of 230-189. It would fund the government until December 15 and permanently defund Obamacare, which is a massive threat to the economy. The law has already resulted in job losses and increased health care costs.

- The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs will hold a hearing on the nominations of Hon. Carol W. Pope, Hon. Ernest W. Dubester, and Patrick Pizzella to be Members, Federal Labor Relations Authority.
- The Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works will have a hearing entitled The Need to Invest in America’s Infrastructure and Preserve Federal Transportation Funding.
