Budget season is officially in full swing, and as the U.S. Senate prepares to debate the budget resolution, it can only mean one thing: it’s time for vote-a-rama.
Today, senators will gather in the U.S. Capitol to take part in a marathon voting session known as vote-a-rama. The vote-a-rama isn’t likely to start until later tonight, and it could go on until the sun rises over the U.S. Capitol—just like it did in 2013.
Senators will be confined to the floor with little staff—and no lobbyists—present. However, they will have access to their cell phones, albeit in a limited fashion. When they need a break, Republicans and Democrats are welcome to take trips into their respective cloakrooms where they can enjoy a snack or watch March Madness.
