On Friday, Hillary Clinton said during a campaign rally in Massachusetts, “Don’t let anybody tell you that it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs.”
The remarks were widely quoted, and on Monday, Clinton herself commented further on them:
Let me be absolutely clear about what I’ve been saying for a couple of decades: Our economy grows when businesses and entrepreneurs create good-paying jobs here in an America where workers and families are empowered to build from the bottom up and the middle out — not when we hand out tax breaks for corporations that outsource jobs or stash their profits overseas.
Talking about President Obama’s “If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that” comment in the 2012 campaign, Krauthammer said, “He botched it. Now she got it worse.”
“It’s going to haunt her,” Krauthammer added, predicting that the remark “will be shown over and over again.”
This post has been corrected to reflect that Clinton made her remarks on Friday, not Saturday.
