This is Kermit Gosnell. The 73-year old may be the most prolific serial killer in American history.

Last April he was charged with the murder of seven infants who were born alive after failed abortion attempts.

According to former clinic staff, murdering newborn infants after botched abortions was a regular occurrence. One clinic worker estimated nearly 100 living babies were gruesomely murdered moments after birth.

This is a picture of some of the body parts found in his clinic.

Abortion doctor's 'house of horrors'

His West Philadelphia abortion clinic has been in business since 1979 and according to the almost 300-page grand jury report, it went almost two decades without being inspected by state health officials…

Prosecutors and former clinic workers said the operating rooms were stocked with “filthy, corroded” instruments and outdated machines.

His untrained staff included a then-15 year old girl who sometimes assisted in abortion procedures and administered prescription drugs to patients.

Here’s how the grand jury investigating Gosnell’s crimes described the case:

This case is about a doctor who killed babies … What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable, babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors …. Over the years, many people came to know that something was going on here. But no one put a stop to it.

According to an excerpt from what the neonatologist told the grand jury, the babies he murdered suffered:

The neonatologist testified… If a baby moves, it is alive. Equally troubling, it feels a “tremendous amount of pain” when its spinal cord is severed. So, the fact that Baby Boy A. continued to move after his spinal cord was cut with scissors means that he did not die instantly. Maybe the cord was not completely severed. In any case, his few moments of life were spent in excruciating pain.

Gosnell was convicted of first-degree murder in the deaths of three infants last May.

He was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Karnamaya Mongar, a 41-year-old woman who died from an overdose of anesthetic drugs during an abortion procedure.

The jury’s verdict came after six weeks of graphic testimony.
