In a move about as a surprising as snow in the winter, the Senate voted today to suspend the debt ceiling. Politicians on both sides of the aisle have a long history of pledging not to hike the debt ceiling – and then going on to do just that (over and over).  Watch this video chronicle (from 1995 onwards!) how politicians keep letting Americans down.
