A pair of House conservatives will speak at the Heritage Foundation Tuesday afternoon, at our weekly Bloggers Briefing. The event will begin at noon. You can it live above.

Reps. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) and Justin Amash (R-MI) will discuss ongoing fiscal cliff negotiations, including Speaker John Boehner’s recent proposal, which Heritage economic policy experts Allison Fraser and J.D. Foster have dubbed “utterly unacceptable.”

“It is bad policy, bad economics,” Foster and Fraser added.

Amash and Huelskamp, who have earned 91% and 92%, respectively, on Heritage Action’s legislative scorecard, are also expected to discuss their removal from key House committees. As the New York Times reported:

Republican leaders on Monday removed members with obstinate voting patterns from key committees.

Most notably, Representative Tim Huelskamp, Republican of Kansas, one of the most conservative members of the House, was removed from the budget committee as well as the agriculture committee. Joining Mr.Huelskamp, a second-term representative, on the budget committee bye-bye list was Representative Justin Amash of Michigan.

Heritage will also host Taxpayers Protection Alliance president David Williams, who will explain why LEED standards are economically destructive and actually hurt energy efficiency.
