Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID) said yesterday at a Heritage’s Conversations with Conservatives, “I find it fascinating that this administration says that there is not a smidgen of corruption, which I think will be the lie of this year.”

President Obama recently said to Fox News host Bill O’Reilly in a recent interview that there was “not even a smidgen of corruption” at the IRS, which was under fire last year for unfairly targeting conservative groups.

Labrador continued,

It’s amazing to me that they could go after Chris Christie after one week and they’re still investigating what happened with the IRS and they’re not coming forward with the truth about what happened with the IRS. They are both allegations about political payback. One seems to go right to the top of the Obama administration, it’s because it’s an investigation against a Republican, and something that is clearly just as bad and even worse, and they’re not even getting to the bottom of it. I think the media needs to start asking questions.

The IRS scandal, which was first publicly reported in February of 2012, is still under investigation. Another House of Representatives hearing on this issue is happening today. Lois Lerner, the former IRS official at the center of the controversy, has declined to testify.
