Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., tapped to lead the Benghazi select committee, blasted the Obama administration’s “systematic effort” to deny Congress documents pertaining to the Benghazi terror attack investigation and vowed to seek out “every single, solitary relevant, material document” in his investigation.

Speaking Monday on Fox News Channel, Gowdy questioned the findings of the State Department’s Accountability Review Board, which was given only a military after-action report summary and never allowed to interview then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “Does anyone really believe the ARB had access to all of the documents and all of the witnesses?” Gowdy said.

Gowdy criticized the over-classification of documents pertaining to the attack “to protect people’s reputations and careers.

“I’m not interested in summaries; I’m not interested in synopses,” he said. “I’m interested in access to the document and the witness, and I’ll decide whether or not I think the appropriate questions were asked in the past.

“I want to see every single solitary relevant material document. In fact, I want to see everything for which there can be any argument that it is relevant, and then we can judge whether or not it is material.”
